KARACHI: Top seed Ibrahim Iltifat eased into the second round of men’s singles event when he beat Bilal Ahmed in straight sets in the Union Club Open Ranking Tennis Championship here at Union Club on Friday.
Ibrahim proved too good for Bilal and recorded a convincing 6-0, 6-1 victory.
Saad Ahmed also moved into the second round when he defeated Ahmer Ahsan 6-2, 6-1. Shoaib Abbas registered a straight-set triumph, defeating Samiullah 6-2, 6-3.
Talha Sohail was taken to full stretch by Azhar Qadir before he recorded a 7-5, 5-7, 10-6 victory.
In under-17 clash, Eibad Sarwar defeated Abdul Haseeb 6-1, 3-0 (rtd).
