From Our Correspondent
KASUR: An alleged outlaw was killed in an encounter with police on Thursday.
A Sadr police party tried to stop four suspects riding on two motorcycles at a picket on Sahari Road. Instead of following the police signal, the bike riders opened fire and fled the scene. Soon after the escape, a joint party of Sadr and Raja Jang police started chasing the bike riders and spotted them near Mallu Ki Drain in the limits of Raja Jang police. Smelling danger, the suspects opened fire at the police. The police also retaliated. As a result, one suspect, later identified as Gulzar alias Dang Shah, was killed while three others managed to escape from the spot. A stolen motorcycle and a pistol were recovered.
Talking to newsmen, DPO Ali Nasir Rizvi claimed Gulzar was involved in more than 12 cases of robbery and dacoity. Gulzar was killed by the firing of his own accomplices, he added.
