Promoter of dancers found dead

A promoter of dancers was found dead at the home of a dancer, Sapna, under mysterious circumstances in the Nawab Town police limits on Wednesday. 

Police said victim Ch Imtiaz of Rizwan Block used to take dancing girls to Dubai in groups as he ran a bar and a hotel there. On Tuesday night, he stayed at the home of Sapna. He consumed liquor at night and went unconscious. He was rushed to Jinnah Hospital where he was declared brought dead. Police took Sapna and a boy, Abdullah, in custody for interrogation. Sapna told police Imtiaz kept consuming liquor throughout the night which proved fatal. 

FOUND DEAD: Decomposed body of a 58-year-old lady doctor was found from her house in the Garden Town police limits while a 30-year-old pregnant woman died under mysterious circumstances in the Green Town Police limits. Lady doctor Ghazala Bibi of Sher Shah Block had been living alone at the home for a long time.

The locals of the area noted foul smell emitting from the house and informed police who reached the scene and opened the house. The victim was found dead in her bedroom and her body was decomposed. Separately, victim Iqra of Kasur got married with one Danish nine months back in Green Town. On the day of incident, she went unconscious after having some poisonous food. She was rushed to hospital where she died. The victim’s parents suspected that Iqra was poisoned to death. 

DISMISSED: CTO Tayyab Cheema dismissed two traffic wardens from service over absence and violation of departmental rules and regulations.

The dismissed wardens are Safdar and Ahsan. The CTO said there is no room for negligent officials in City Traffic Police. However, the department will reward hardworking officials. Proper inquiry was conducted before taking strict action against the said wardens. 

EDHI: Edhi Welfare Centres shifted the bodies of 70 persons who had died in different incidents during the last month at hospitals and homes. Edhi ambulances also shifted 165 victims who had received injured in road accidents.

The spokesperson of Edhi Foundation said Edhi had also provided coffins to the victims. Edhi provided food to 11,523 persons through Edhi free Langar. 

ACCIDENTS: At least 559 accidents were reported in Provincial Monitoring Cell of Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) in all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours in which eight lives were lost and 445 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant districts.

Some 203 victims who sustained minor injuries were discharged on the spot after provision of first aid by Emergency Medical Teams. 

arrested: Anti Vehicles Lifting Staff, Model Town, arrested two bike lifters and snatchers and recovered 20 bikes from their possession.

The arrested accused identified as Saqib Gull and Moon Masih confessed to lifting and snatching dozens of bikes from various parts of the city. DIG Investigation announced cash prizes and appreciation certificates for the police team.

shot dead: A 25-year-old youth was shot dead by his friends in Kahna area on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Shahzad of Sui Asiil Kahna. It was reported that the accused identified as Allah Ditta along with his accomplices had shot Shazad to death over a minor issue. Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy. However, no case was registered till the filing of this report.
