PTA team leaves for India
KARACHI: A 15-member delegation of Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) led by its Chairman Gulzar Firoz on Monday left for India on a study tour.
It will also attend International Leather Fair to be held from February 1 to 3 at Chennai India and to participate the 19th International Footwear Congress scheduled between Feb 3 to 5 said a PTA statement here.
Representatives of twenty countries are expected to participate in this event.
The study tour is sponsored supported by PITCO under Pakistan Leather Competitiveness Programme of European Union with the purpose for finalizing the leather export promotion council in Pakistan.
The delegation to India is the follow up to the announcement of leather export promotion council (LEPC) in Pakistan made by Federal Commerce Minister Engr Khurrram Dastagir Khan during inaugural ceremony of 2nd Pakistan mega leather show held on Jan 28 2016 in Lahore.
The motive for the delegation is to make more close coordination with council of leather export (CLE) in India which is the similar autonomous body in India for the leather industry to ascertain the tested effective tools.
These tools were adopted at the time of finalization of the council in India and were operating in the leather council successfully with other information and features to facilitate and enable to make a council in Pakistan with the same motive of promoting the country's exports.
