ATC adjourns hearing of four cases against Mirza till Feb 27

Karachi

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday adjourned the hearing of four cases against former home minister and a dissident leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, till February 27.

The cases were registered in Badin police station against Miza and dozens of his accomplices and pertained to charges of ransacking, attacking and threatening police, display of arms and disturbance of law and order.

Mirza and his companions are on trial in two different anti-terrorism courts and a sessions court due to cases registered in different police stations of Badin, Hyderabad and Karachi. 

The former minister is
on interim bail in all these cases.

In Karachi, the cases were registered in Arambagah and Darkhshan police stations. 

Mirza claims political victimisation since he “exposed” former president Asif Ali Zardari, his sister MNA Faryal Talpur and others for their alleged misdeeds.

 

Cyber crime case 

The Judicial Magistrate of district East granted three-day physical to three men allegedly involved in cyber crimes.

Three men Azeem Butt, Muneer Khan and Irfan Basheer were produced by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the court was informed that the accused had gathered huge sums from people through a fake website.

The three accused were arrest on Friday.

The Investigation Officer (IO) prayed to the court to grant physical remand of the three accused for interrogation and the court granted the plea till February 2.
