Onlooker dies in rivals’ shootout

LAHORE

A 20-year-old youth was shot dead in a shootout between two groups in the South Cantt area on Friday.The victim was identified as Ali Raza of the South Cantt area. Police said that Sher Ali and Raja Nadim groups opened fire at each other over an old enmity when the victim Ali came under firing range and received fatal wounds. Sher Ali and one Atif also received wounds. The injured persons were rushed to hospital where Ali Raza died. Police shifted the body to morgue.

INJURED: A woman and her son received injuries when a substandard LPG cylinder exploded in a house in Pak Arab Society on Friday.On being informed, the rescuers rushed to the scene and shifted the injured woman and her son to hospital where their condition was said to be critical.

ARRESTED: Baghbanpura police arrested three robbers, recovered booty and weapons from their possession.The arrested robbers identified as Ejaz, Ghulam Farid and Mujeeb Ahmad confessed to committing dozens of robberies in various parts of the city.

WARDENS: Lahore CTO directed the traffic wardens to use raincoat, rain boot and umbrella during rain.

He warned that strict action would be taken against such traffic wardens who would not follow the said instruction.
