3-day training camp for school guards
From Our Correspondent
GUJRANWALA: Police have started a three-day training camp for school security guards to help them combat terror incidents.
In the first phase some three hundred guards of 50-A plus and A-category holders public and private schools are attending the training camp at police lines. Elite force commandos are telling the guards as how to use weapons, defuse a bomb and to extend first-aid help. Police trainers are also delivering lectures on how to tackle an emergency situation.
According to SP (operations) captain (retd) Muhammad Ali Zia, the training was aimed at enabling the guards to engage terrorists before the arrival of law enforcement agencies in case of any eventuality. It has been observed during the training session that most of the guards have no training as how to use weapons and even some irrelevant people were recruited as guards by school administrations.
