From Our Correspondent

KASUR: An Excise and Taxation team Tuesday sealed a factory on charges of manufacturing vehicles with tempered engines and chassis.

On a tip-off, District Excise and Taxation Officer Muhammad Aslam raided the factory situated at Ferozpur road near new bus terminal and seized ten vehicles including loaders and buses with tempered engine and chassis numbers.

Workers and owner of the factory Arshad Ali fled the factory.

The excise raiding team sealed the factory and registered a case.

It is learnt that the factory has been manufacturing vehicles for over a decade; earlier in Mustafabad and later near city Kasur, and engines of stolen or damaged vehicles are often used in other vehicles in the factory as well.
