Vehicles manufacturing factory sealed

KASUR: An Excise and Taxation team Tuesday sealed a factory on charges of manufacturing vehicles with tempered engines and chassis.
On a tip-off, District Excise and Taxation Officer Muhammad Aslam raided the factory situated at Ferozpur road near new bus terminal and seized ten vehicles including loaders and buses with tempered engine and chassis numbers.
Workers and owner of the factory Arshad Ali fled the factory.
The excise raiding team sealed the factory and registered a case.
It is learnt that the factory has been manufacturing vehicles for over a decade; earlier in Mustafabad and later near city Kasur, and engines of stolen or damaged vehicles are often used in other vehicles in the factory as well.
BUILDING COLLAPSES:
An under construction four-storey building caved in near Steel Bagh Chowk on Tuesday.
There was no report of any loss of life.
The contractor started removing rubble without seeking any help from rescue service.
Reportedly, the contractor has not informed the rescue service as he was constructing the building illegally.
TMO Rai Mansha told reporters that the owner of the building deals in houses and he was served notice thrice few weeks earlier.
Police are looking into the matter.
