QUETTA: Four alleged militants were killed in a gunbattle with the Frontier Corps Balochistan in the Winder area of Lasbela district on Tuesday.
An FC spokesman said here that acting on a tip-off about the presence of alleged militants in the Winder area, the FC personnel launched a search operation which led to an exchange of fire. The armed men opened fire at the FC personnel who retaliated against the attack, he said, adding as a result four militants were killed.
The spokesman said the dead belonged to a banned militant organisation.He said weapons including a hand grenade and SMG were also recovered from their possession. They were involved in heinous crimes, including extortion, kidnapping people for ransom and attacking security forces, he added.
According to another report, the FC shot dead two militants during an exchange of firing in the Pasni area of Gwadar district on Tuesday.
According to the FC spokesman, acting on a tip-off the FC personnel were carrying out a search operation in Ward number 7 when terrorists opened fire at them.
The FC personnel gunned down the two militants. Arms were also were recovered from their possession. Further investigation was under way.
