Inadequate security
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Dera Ismail Khan Range Abdul Ghafoor Afridi on Monday ordered an appropriate action against the administration of various schools, colleges and other government installations for inadequate security arrangements.
The DIG issued the orders during surprise visits to various schools, colleges and other government installations in the aftermath of the militants attack on the Bacha Khan University in Charsadda. The visits were aimed at inspecting the security arrangements of the educational institutions and other state installations.
He visited the Government Girls Degree College No.1, Gomal Medical College, a private college and office of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) and expressed dismay over the poor security arrangements there.
The DIG also directed the administration of these institutions to increase the number of security guards, raise the boundary walls and place barbwire on it. The official said the police would provide special training to the private security guards of schools, colleges and other institutions and equip them with sophisticated weapons to enable them to cope with any eventuality.
