Violating Child Protection Act
4 kiln owners booked in Okara

OKARA: Police on Sunday booked four kiln owners for violating the Child Protection Act in separate incidents here.
The Punjab Protection of Child Labour inspector along with the police raided the kiln of Asghar at 54/2-L village and found that Nusrat Bibi (12) and Shoaib Akhtar (8) were busy making bricks. In another raid, the police raided the kiln of Rao Riaz at Jaboka and found that Irfan (11), Shahbaz (11) and Sonia (11) were making bricks. The police in another raid at the brick kiln of Rai Javed Anwar situated on Pakpattan-Depalpur Road found that Asif (10) was working at the kiln. The police raided the kiln of Muhammad Akram at Chak 38/D and found that Tariq (9) was making bricks.
3 HELD WITH NARCOTICS: Police on Sunday arrested three drug pushers and recovered narcotics from them in separate incidents here.
On a tip-off, A-Division police raided and arrested Shahzad Ahmad of Mian Colony with 535 grams charas. Satghara police raided the house of Hassan and unearthed a running distillery besides recovering 40 litres brewed wine. Hujra Shah Muqeem police raided and arrested Jafar Ali with 15 litres brewed wine. The same staff raided and arrested Muhammad Akram of Sahiwal with 20 litres brewed wine. The police have registered separate cases.
RS 20B FOR ROADS NETWORK: Former Municipal Committee chairman Ch Muhammad Saeed has said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has allocated Rs 20 billion for establishing a roads network from rural areas to the city to provide benefits to the farmers.
Talking to media, he said that progress and development of any country depends on its communication network. He said that the Punjab CM had allocated Rs 1.73 billion funds for Sahiwal Division, which would be utilised for construction of roads from rural to urban areas.
