JHANG: Due to fault in the online system of the Punjab Examination Commission, process of issuance of roll number slips to 1.5 million students of 5th and 8th classes has been halted across the Punjab, including Jhang district.
Punjab Teachers Union provincial chapter vice-president Muhammad Ramzan while talking to media here on Sunday disclosed that the PEC was responsible to hold examinations of the classes in the province. He said that registration of schools and students for the examinations had been made by the PEC Office in Lahore besides establishment of examination centres, nomination of superintendents and issuance of roll number slips. He said that the PEC officials had asked examination centres superintendents to issue roll number slips to the students at their own. He demanded the Punjab CM take notice of the problems being faced by the students. Meanwhile, a spokesman for the district Education Department confirmed that in the light of the urgent message received from the PEC Office, necessary directions had already been issued to the superintendents of examination centres for issuance of roll number slips to the students.
