35 kiln owners, employees held in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR: Police on Sunday arrested 35 kiln owners and their employees after registration of 20 FIRs against them under the Child Protection Act in different areas of Bahawalpur district.
According to the Bahawalpur DPO Office spokesman, 25 children were released from the kilns during the crackdown against the kiln owners. He told that the action was initiated against more than 55 kilns in Bahawalpur Division.
2 MOTORCYCLISTS KILLED IN ACCIDENT: Two motorcyclists were killed in separate road accidents here on Sunday.
Asad Abbasi of Sama Satta was on his way when a trailer crushed him to death near Dera Masti on Bahawalpur-Ahmadpur East National Highway Section. In another incident, Allah Ditta of Fort Abbas was on his way when a wagon hit him on Chishtian-Shehr Fareed Road. As a result, he died instantly.
MAN KILLED, 5 INJURED IN CLASH: A man was killed while five others sustained injuries when a clash erupted between two groups over a land dispute at Basti Jodheka on Sunday.
The clash erupted between two rival groups of Bhopa Bhatti Baradri and the members of both groups opened fire at each other. As a result, Fateh Muhammad was killed on the spot while five others, including three women, sustained injuries and rushed to a hospital. According to Maddersa police SHO Bashir Pahlwan, an FIR would be registered after receiving of preliminary medical report.
PROTESTS AGAINST GAS LOADSHEDDING: Residents of various areas of Bahawalpur, Rahimyar Khan and Bahawalnagar districts on Sunday staged demonstrations against gas loadshedding in their areas.
The protesters, including women and children, protested at various areas and chanted slogans against the gas loadshedding. They demanded the government take notice of the issue.
