Education dept gets Rs 340m

JHANG: The district education department has been given Rs 340 million for uplift projects.

Executive District Officer (F&P) Tariq Javed stated this while addressing a budget seminar. EDO (Education) Nasim Ahmed Zahid, Regional Coordinator Asif Mughal, MPAs Muhammad Khan Baloch, Saqlain Sipra, DO (Planning) Haider Ali, AD (Planning) Khalid Mehmood, representatives of NGOs, journalists and people from different walks of life also attended the seminar. The EDO (F&P) said the proper utilization of education budget can improve the conditions of schools and education standard besides enhancing the performance of education department. The EDO (Education) said maximum development funds would be utilised for the provision of missing facilities. He said after completion of the recruitment process of teachers, shortage of staff in institutions of boys and girls would be completed. Regional Coordinator Asif Mughal said private sector with the technical and human resources were enhancing the capacity-building of teaching and non-teaching staff for better utilisation of educational budget. He stressed the need of utilizing educational budget properly. Haider said maximum development projects of boys and girls schools have been completed and remaining would be completed soon in the district.

LG RESERVED SEATS: Some 102 candidates have filed their nomination papers for the election of 31 reserved seats of the district council. According to sources, to contest 15 special seats of women, some 32 candidates filed nomination papers. Similarly, for 5 seats of farmers 22, for 5 seats of technocrats 15, for 5 minorities seats 19 and for 1 seat of youth councillors of district council 14 candidates filed nomination papers.
