12-year-old thief held with stolen bikes

BAHAWALPUR: A 12-year-old motorcycle thief was caught red-handed at Chishtian on Saturday.
City Chishtian police arrested Hassan Khalid, s/o Muhammad Khalid and a resident of Hussainabad Colony Chishtian, red-handed with a stolen bike. During initial investigation, Hassan revealed that he had stolen eight more bikes, which were later recovered from his house by the police.
2 DEAD IN ACCIDENT: Two motorcyclists were killed in an accident near Old Hasilpur on Friday night.
Waris Ali and Muhammad Iqbal were on their way when their vehicle rammed into a sugarcane-loaded tractor-trolley on Hasilpur-Vehari Road. As a result, both bikers died on the spot while Ahmad Ali also sustained injuries in the accident.
SCRUTINY OF NOMINATION PAPERS: Scrutiny of the nomination papers for the reserved seats for the District Council Bahawalpur, Bahawalpur Municipal Corporation and five municipal committees on Saturday continued here.
Total 234 candidates filed nomination papers for 71 reserved seats in Bahawalpur district. Most candidates filed papers for the women seats. For District Council Bahawalpur, total 85 candidates filed their nomination papers while 33 candidates filed papers for the Bahawalpur Municipal Corporation.
