Water for Sukkur

Despite being situated by the banks of the River Indus, it is strange that Sukkur faces water crisis. The people of the city are getting untreated water, leading to waterborne diseases.

British-era water pipelines have long completed their lives. However, the municipality has not chalked out any planes to replace them. The result is that potable water is mixing with sewerage. Hence, one can see diseases like hepatitis, typhoid, TB, etc. There is a need to upgrade the existing system.
