Leaders visit varsity, hospital in Charsadda
CHARSADDA: Most of the educational institutions in the district remained closed while national and local leaders visited the District Headquarters Hospital to inquire after the health of the injured. People’s Party leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has said that his party was supporting the security forces in elimination of terrorism from the country. Talking to reporters after inquiring after the health of the injured of the attack on Bacha Khan University here, he said that all political parties must shun differences and unite against terrorists.
He asked the nation to support the political leadership to restore normalcy to the country. Muttahidda Qaumi Movement leaders Member National Assembly Abdul Wasim and Senator Mian Attiq also visited the District Headquarters Hospital to inquire after the health of the injured persons.
They told reporters that the country would have got rid of terrorism had National Action Plan been implemented in letter and spirit. They said that the attack on the university showed that the institutions responsible for the security of the country were still in the pre-APS attack position.
Jamaat-i-Islami president Senator Sirajul Haq, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and other political leaders also visited the hospitals.Some students chanted slogans against Maulana Fazlur Rehman during his visit to the university.
