CPEC termed game changer

CHAKWAL: Former minister and MNA Maj (retd) Tahir Iqbal Tuesday said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would be a game changer in the whole region.
Talking to reporters at his public secretariat, Tahir said Chakwal-Mandra and Chakwal-Sohawa roads would be completed with the cost of more than Rs 10 billion by the end of this year and these projects would bring Chakwal equal to the developed districts of the Punjab. He said due to Lahore-Islamabad motorway, Chakwal have four interchanges and Chakwal would also get benefits from the CPEC. Tahir said power loadshedding would end in 2018 and all the promises made in the general election would be fulfilled. To a question, Tahir said joint and unanimous candidates would be brought in special seats polls in the local bodies elections and in this regards all decisions made by the high command would be implemented in its true spirits. He said the PML-N is in comfortable position at district council Chakwal, MC Chakwal, MC Choa Saidan Shah and MC Lawa, however we would give a tough time to our opponents at MC Kallar Kahar, MC Bhoun and MC Talagang. He claimed having support of more than 40 chairmen and vice chairmen out of 71 union councils in the district.
