Three brick kiln owners booked

OKARA: Okara police Sunday booked three brick kiln owners for child labour.
Renala city police raided Ittefaq bricks kiln and recovered minors Abdul Rehman and Rizwan and arrested manger Azam.
The police raided Baba Farid bricks kiln situated at 2/1L village and recovered minors Arshad Ali and Ali Raza, who were rendering child labour there.
In the third incident Punjab prohibition of labour inspector raided Janjua bricks company on Pakpattan-Dipalpur road and recovered minors Abid Yaseen and Misbah Yaseen.
Police registered separate cases against owners of the bricks kiln owners under the Punjab Protection of Child Labour ordinance 2016.
BRICKS KILN OWNERS MEETING: Brick kiln owners association Sunday held a meeting chaired by its president Salman Azhar Sh and slammed police raids at the kilns.
They said just after 24 hours of the adoption of the ordinance, the police have started immediate raids.
They asked the relevant authorities to take action against the police.
11 BOOKED OVER FIRING: Ravi police booked 11 people on charges of jubilation firing in a marriage function in Naul Plot village.
The firing injured drummer Muhammad Saleem of Lasharian village and he was shifted to Lahore in critical condition.
The police arrested Munir and Manzoor while the rest are still at large.
9 INJURED IN ACCIDENT: Nine people, including four women, suffered injuries in a truck-van collision on GT road near Tabrook bus stop in heavy fog.
The injured were shifted to DHQ hospital.
