Direct PTI polls demanded

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf senior leader Ejaz Chaudhry has demanded the election commission of his party to hold direct polls from union council to central cadre.

Flanked by other senior members of the party, Ejaz Chaudhry, also the former President of PTI Punjab, called for all possible measures to curb the involvement of money in electioneering.

He demanded the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf election commission to set a limit for electioneering and no member should be allowed to exceed that level during ithe election campaign.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader also demanded the Election Commission to bar any member having less than three years of affiliation with the party from contesting the polls. He also directed all the former office-bearers and aspirants for party slots to start the election campaign.

To a question about the report of Justice (Rtd) Wajihud Din, he said that Wajih had dissolved all the organisations without even consulting them. He said it was due to the PTI elected organisations that showed great performance in the 2013 general elections as well the historic sit-in of 2014.

He said the elected organisation of PTI Punjab also fought a legal battle after which the PML-N was forced to conduct local bodies polls on party basis.  PTI leaders including Dr Yasmin Rashid, Mumtaz Akhter Kahlu and others were also present.
