LONDON: A Pervez Musharraf loyalist has said that international lawyers based in the UK and US plan to file an extensive legal report noting what they call the “widespread irregularities in the Article 6 case against Pervez Musharraf, which is in violation of international conventions.”
This report will be filed with global organisations including the United Nations, the European Union, the Commonwealth Organisation and the International Commission of Jurists.
Chaudhry Sarfraz Anjum Kahlon, a UK-based political advisor to former President Musharraf, told The News that a panel of lawyers had been formed sometime ago to look closely at the on-going cases against Pervez Musharraf on various counts in Pakistani courts.
Kahlon alleged legal proceedings against Musharraf are being undertaken in clear violation of international conventions and the rule of law.He stated that some British parliamentarians, US senators and congressmen have endorsed the legal report, which will be made public in the near future.
According to the information received by this correspondent, a panel of international legal experts including British barristers and QC’s are producing a detailed and comprehensive report highlighting the various aspects in the treason trial and all other legal proceedings against Musharraf.
