The Shifa International Hospital was once a pride of Islamabad. Although treatment there was expensive, the hospital had professional staff with an equally good administration. Former CEO late Zaheer Ahmed and his team should be given credit for running the hospital efficiently.
However, the hospital has failed to sustain its reputation with time. Its standards have deteriorated. The paramedical staff, particularly the nurses, has a lot to learn about bedside manner. The charm of this one-time best hospital has been lost to unchecked construction in a limited area. The senior management is requested to take measures to regain its lost glory before people start comparing it with the Rawalpindi General Hospital.
