Faisalabad to have second branch
of Hilal-e-Ahmar Maternity Hospital

FAISALABAD: The District Red Crescent Society will set up a 200-bed second branch of the Hilal-e-Ahmar Maternity Hospital at Allama Iqbal Colony on Samundri Road.
This was said by DCO/District Red Crescent Society Chairman Noorul Amin Mengal while receiving a cheque of Rs 2.5 million donation from a local club. He said that an amount of Rs 50 million would be spent on the completion of the first phase. A sum of Rs 40 million had been provided by the city district government and donations were being received to collect the remaining Rs 10 million, he added. He said that donations of Rs 1 million each had been provided by local philanthropists Mian Iqbal Sajid and Haji Muhammad Ramzan while donation of Rs 500,000 had been given by club secretary Shakeel Anwar in his personal capacity. He said that special measures were being taken by the district administration for expansion of public welfare projects and special attention had been focused on health sector for providing quality and advanced medical treatment facilities to the patients at their doorsteps. He thanked the donors and said that the affluent segment of the society should come forward in maximum number for serving the suffering humanity.
Speaking on the occasion, MPA Tahir Jamil said that the establishment of the Hilal-e-Ahmar second branch was an important and significant step of the district administration for providing ample medical facilities to the woman patients of the populous localities.
Medical Superintendent Dr Hafiz Mukhtar Randhawa and others also spoke on the occasion.
TWO KILLED ON ROAD: Two people, including a woman, were killed in separate road accidents here on Thursday.
In the first incident, a speeding car collided with a donkey-cart near Chak 266/RB on Khurrianwala Road, causing spontaneous death of Bashiran Bibi. In the second incident, a speeding car crushed Liaqat Ali of Chohla village to death.
Two bodies found
FAISALABAD: Police found two unidentified bodies in the city on Thursday.
Locals spotted a body in a watercourse near Chak 225/RB and informed Sadr police, who rushed to the spot and fished it out. The police shifted the body to the Allied Hospital for autopsy.
In another incident, Mansoorabad police found a body under Nishatabad Bridge. Police said that the deceased was an addict.
