Grid stations upgradation

MULTAN: The Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) has started renovation and up-gradation of grid stations to overcome power tripping and low voltage.
Talking to reporters Mepco Chief Executive Engineer Fazlullah Durrani said Rs 300 million has been spent on the upgradation and extension in six grid stations and 40-MVA transformers have been installed to combat tripping and low voltage in summer. He said the MVA-20/26 transformers were working on sites before the installation of MVA-4 transformers. Durrani said installation of 40-MVA would benefit to the areas: 11-KVA Suraj Miani, Burn Unit, Timber Market, Bohar Gate, Nusrat road, Multan cantonment, Quaid-e-Azam road, Bahawalnagar, Arifwala, Burewala and other areas in Multan, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan divisions.
