RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday visited the Punjab Regimental Centre, Mardan.According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Shahid Baig Mirza, Military Secretary, was installed Colonel Commandant of Punjab Regiment. General Raheel also pinned the badges of rank at a ceremony held at the regimental centre. Later, the COAS also interacted with veterans, commanders and soldiers of the regiment and relatives of Shuhada.
The COAS also met Taimoor Khan, the eldest son of Lance Naik (retd) Parvez Khan, who embraced Shahadat on Dec 29, 2015 at the Nadra office in Mardan while stopping a suicide bomber from entering the Nadra office which saved many precious lives. The COAS appreciated the courage displayed by Pervez Shaheed and assured full support to bereaved family.
