Accident claims life

OKARA: A youth was killed while his friend sustained injuries in an accident near Youngpur village on Tuesday.
Muhammad Akram and Shahzad of Gogera were on their way by a motorcycle when a speeding vehicle hit them. As a result, Akram died on the spot while Shahzad was injured and rushed to a hospital. Gogera police have registered a case.
IMPOSITION OF TAX ON CROPS FLAYED: Sultan Mehmood Tiwana, a renowned agriculturist, has criticised the government for imposing 2 per cent tax on crops.
In a statement, he said that farmers could not make up the expenditures on recent paddy and maize crops. In such circumstances, he added, the government had imposed tax on them, which was injustice. He said that if the government did not withdraw the tax, he would launch a protest against the decision.
