FAISALABAD: A three-day anti-polio drive started on Monday to administer anti-polio drops to children up to five years of age. According to a health department spokesman, more than 1.2 million children would be administered anti-polio drops during the drive and some 2,958 teams would complete the task. He said leftover children would be administered drops on January 14 and 15. Some 1,897 police officials have been deputed for security of polio teams. According to a police department spokesman, 1,460 constables, 203 head constables and 234 assistant sub-inspectors would provide security to polio teams. The heads of police stations across the district had also been directed to ensure tight security for polio workers.
