Zone-IV beat Zone-III comfortably
KARACHI: Zone-IV beat Zone-III by five wickets and the match between Zone-V and Zone-VI was washed out in the last group league matches of Division-II of the KMC-KCCA Inter-Zonal Cricket Tournament here on Thursday.
At Pak Star Ground, Zone-III were bundled out for 147 in 35.3 overs. Zarar Shah (34), Majid Ali (33) and Abdul Samad (23) were the leading contributors. Raja Ammanulah claimed 6-30.
Zone-IV chased down the target for the loss of five wickets in 30.4 overs. Ali Tirmizi scored 37 and Sher Ali made 35. Raja was declared the man of the match.
At Landhi Gymhana Ground, the match was reduced to 25 overs after rain hit the ground.
Zone-V were dismissed for 113 in 23.4 overs.
Zone-VI were 19-3 in three overs when rain started again and the match was abandoned by the match referee.
