ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) has directed Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF) to investigate Mahoor Shahzad’s discriminatory statement and submit a report with the National Olympic Committee within a week.
A POA handout expressed its disappointment on Mahoor’s statement.
“We are disappointed and have serious concerns about the remarks of the national badminton player who represented Pakistan at the Olympics. We strongly believe that any kind of discrimination by words or actions under any circumstances is against the Olympic Spirit and therefore the comment is strongly condemned,” POA said.
POA asked PBF to submit a detailed report within a week with their recommendations, on receipt of which POA shall take necessary and appropriate measures.
