LAHORE: Punjab Governor Ch Sarwar has said the victory in the by-elections of Sialkot is the victory of the new Pakistan and has proved that the people stand with the government's stance and have rejected opposition.
Despite coronavirus, Pakistan is heading towards prosperity. While talking to the delegations of PTI at the Governor House Thursday, he said only the politics of transparency and honesty will prevail in Pakistan. He said despite COVID-19, the country has moved towards economic prosperity and the IMF has also acknowledged the steps taken by the government for bolstering the business community. He said the government is committed to ensuring security and sovereignty. He further said the defeat of opposition in elections of Sialkot after Azad Kashmir is a proof that the people are with the PTI instead of opposition and this success owes to hard work of the PTI workers and political acumen of the general public.
He said people reposed trust in Prime Minister Imran Khan as he is an honest leader, adding that he is working with sincerity to steer the country out of crises and time is not far when Pakistan will overcome all the problems.
He said the PTI has become the country's largest political party and Prime Minister Imran Khan will never bow down to the opposition's pressure. Expressing concern over the surge in corona cases, he said every Pakistani must follow SOPs till complete elimination of COVID-19, adding that those who do not follow SOPs are not only risking their own lives but the lives of others. He warned if corona cases escalate further, it will be catastrophic for the nation, so everyone should get vaccinated and follow SOPs to overcome COVID-19.
