LAHORE: The Punjab Home Department has given a two-week deadline to over 200 arms dealers in the province to complete the record computerisation process, after which their business licences will be cancelled and shops to be sealed.
Under the new precautionary arrangements, terrorists and other criminal persons would not be able to purchase arms and ammunition from the dealers now. According to the official documents available with the reporter, the CNIC and other particulars of any buyer of arms and ammunition would be verified through the computerised system installed at the dealers shops with the help of the Home Department and NADRA. Without the transportation licence, arms could not be brought from any other province.
