PHC stops recovery of quarterly tariff from industries

PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court on Thursday stopped the recovery of quarterly tariff from various industries and directed authorities to submit comments in the matter.
A two-member bench of Justice Muhammad Ibrahim Khan and Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim issued the verdict.
The counsels Issac Ali Qazi advocate and Akbar Khan advocate appeared before PHC on behalf of Taj Wood and Rolling Company. The counsels informed PHC that the federal government had implemented quarterly tariffs on industries in electricity bills since 2019.
The counsels stated that the high court had declared the tariff illegal and directed Nepra to resolve the matter but later the Nepra took a decision against the petitioners.
