LHC directs police to recover woman in seven days
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday directed Raiwind police to recover a mother of four within seven days and produce her before the court. Justice Anwarul Haq Pannun was hearing a habeas corpus petition of Parveen Fatima seeking recovery of her daughter from the alleged illegal detention of police. Petitioner’s counsel Ramis Sohail stated that a police team barged into the house of Nasreen Bibi and took her away. He said there was no FIR against the woman but police arrested her. The counsel said the family of the woman approached police, however, got no information about her whereabouts. He said seven days had passed since the police violated the sanctity of the four walls and arrested the daughter of the petitioner without any case. He said the life of the detainee was in danger.
