FAISALABAD: Kashan Gilani, a student of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad who was rusticated from the varsity for defaming the varsity, has appealed to Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan to review the decision.
Talking to newsmen on Wednesday, UAF spokesman Prof Dr Jalal Arif said the VC had constituted a committee to review the matter and sought a report within 24 hours. Following the VC’s directions, the committee called the student and his parents on Wednesday afternoon and the student tendered an unconditional apology, he added. He said about 24,000 students were studying in the campus and the university administration was responsible for their education and character building. He said the VC would take decision in this case on compassionate grounds as he was quite sympathetic about students.
