PESHAWAR: The Fata Tribunal has yet again issued notice to the political administration of Khyber Agency to submit complete record in the Dr Shakil Afridi case as the political administration has failed to do so in the last 20 months. The tribunal headed by its chairman Sange Marjan issued a notice to Khyber Agency political agent to produce the complete record of Shakil Afridi’s case before the next hearing on February 25. The tribunal had been issuing orders to the political administration for the last 20 months, but the administration had failed to submit the record and thus the case continued to be adjourned. Dr Shakil Afridi was sentenced to 33 years jail on the charges of supporting and providing treatment to commanders of the banned militant organisation Lashkar-i-Islam. Later, the FCR Commissioner overturned the sentence and heard the case again on the tribunal directives, reducing the sentence to 10 years. Shakil Afridi again filed an appeal in the tribunal against the decision of FCR commissioner. The tribunal ordered Khyber Agency political agent to produce the case record multiple times but the requests went unheeded.
