FAISALABAD: Three more COVID-19 patients died in the district on Sunday. According to a spokesperson for the Health Department, the COVID-19 death toll had reached 1,155 in the district and 15 people tested positive for coronavirus during the last 24 hours. He said 1,570 tests for coronavirus were conducted in public and private sectors during the same period. He said so far 20,542 patients had recovered from the disease while total active cases in Faisalabad had reached 220. He said 339 beds were allocated at the Allied Hospital, 133 at the DHQ Hospital and 150 beds at General Hospital Ghulam Muhammadabad for COVID-19 patients. At present, 32 patients were under treatment at the Allied Hospital, while 15 at DHQ Hospital and four were admitted to General Hospital Ghulam Muhammadabad, he added.
DOOR-TO-DOOR CORONA VACCINATION CAMPAIGN FROM TODAY: The door-to-door corona vaccination campaign will start here from today. In this connection, mobile teams for door-to-door vaccination and camps would be set up in the suburbs under the management of all teaching hospitals while there would be two mobile teams in each union council for vaccination at home. According to District Health Officer Dr Bilal Ahmad, as many as 763,755 general public and 43,877 health care workers had been vaccinated in Faisalabad district so far.
ANTI-POLIO CAMPAIGN TO BEGIN FROM AUG 2: The anti-polio campaign will begin in the district from August 2 to 6. During the campaign, 1,326,937 children upto the age of five years would be administered polio drops. During the drive, 3,549 teams would perform duty and all necessary arrangements had been finalised in this regard. It was informed by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali during a meeting of District Polio Eradication Committee. ADCG Khurram Pervaiz, DHA CEO Dr Mushtaq Sipra, DHO Dr Bilal Ahmad and other officers of various departments were also present. The DC directed that all necessary arrangements should be completed before the campaign keeping n view of micro-plan so that the weaknesses and shortcomings could be rectified. He clarified that every round of polio was important therefore the training of relevant staff should be completed before time besides for awareness of parents all-out resources should be utilised.
FIVE RESTAURANTS SEALED: Five restaurants were sealed for providing services to the non-vaccinated people. AC City Syed Ayub Bukhari checked the restaurants and food points and took action against the restaurants.
15,478 MORE CITIZENS VACCINATED: As many as 15,478 people were vaccinated against corona at 34 centres and one mobile camps in the district on Sunday. Among them, 8,973 general public were given first dose of vaccine while 6,505 were given second dose, 31 health workers were given first dose and 129 were given second dose.
SHOPKEEPERS FINED: The price control magistrates imposed fine on 61 shopkeepers for overcharging. The magistrates conducted 987 inspections in 68 different markets to check the prices of goods and checked the food items rates.
