Man, two sons injured in roof collapse
LAHORE:A man and his two sons were injured when the roof of a house collapsed at Awan Town Johar Town on Sunday.
Upon being informed, the rescuers rushed to the scene, pulled out the three survivors from the debris and rushed them to hospital. The injured have been identified as Allah Ditta, 55, and his two sons Babar, 22, and Khawar, 31.
Eight people arrested: Manawan police arrested eight people during a search operation and recovered weapons from them. The accused have been identified as Afaq, Awais, Javed, Tanveer, Sultan Sabir and Mubashir.
Meanwhile, Dera Ghazi Khan district police claimed to have arrested 42 criminals during the last 30 days and seized drugs and illegal weapons from them. Police also registered seven cases on gambling charges.
Police performance: Dolphins and PRU wings showed immediate response to the all the 206 calls received on helpline 15 during the last week. Both police wings checked 247,000 bikes, 266 vehicles and 247,000 people. As many as 700 motorbikes and three vehicles were impounded and 279 people were arrested due to incomplete documents. Dolphin Squad and PRU also arrested five persons for violating the kite flying ban, 51 for wheelie and another four for fireworks.
Road accidents: The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) responded to 1031 road accidents in all 34 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Thirteen people died and 1146 suffered injuries in the road accidents. As many 728 people were badly injured who were removed to different hospitals while 418 victims with minor injuries were given first aid by the rescue medical teams.
