SUKKUR: Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad, Mohammad Abbas Baloch has expressed the apprehension that inability to maintain social distancing and avoiding use of masks and sanitisers during Eidul Azha might turn the festivity into a superspreader event for Covid-19.
Mohammad Abbas Baloch was presiding over a meeting over implementation of Covid-19 SOPs and maintenance of sanitation and quick disposal of offal during the Eid. He directed the district management, irrigation and municipal officers to ensure timely disposal in light of monsoon rains which might contribute to the sewage issues. The DC also directed expediting the vaccination process and maintenance of SOPs to keep the pandemic in check. The DC Thatta was directed to ensure that people do not visit tourist spots particularly Kenjhar Lake during the Eid holidays to prevent the spread of the contagion. The commissioner also directed the DC Dadu to repair the breaches of canals and repair roads.
