One dead, nine injured in Lahore rain-related incidents
LAHORE: A man died and nine others received injuries in three different roof collapse incidents due to torrential rain in various parts of the city here on Tuesday. On being informed, rescuers rushed to the spots, pulled out the survivors from debris and rushed them to hospitals.
A 30-year old man was killed when the roof of a private office near Manga Bypass collapsed. The victim identified as Arif, son of Muhammad Din, was sitting in the office when the roof caved in. He was rescued from the rubble but could not recover, rescue sources said. The body was shifted to the morgue.
Six people of a family were injured when the roof of their house collapsed near Bari Park China Scheme. Parents and five children were sleeping on the roof which suddenly caved in and all were trapped under the debris. The injured identified as Malaika, Fahad, Bushra, Laiba, Hassan and Amanat were admitted to a local hospital. Three people were injured when the roof of a house collapsed in the Mohlanwal area.
