PPP criticises govt over power, gas outages
ISLAMABAD: PPP Parliamentary leader in Senate Sherry Rehman has expressed her concerns over the power and gas crisis in the country.
She said power load-shedding had exceeded 5000MW amid extreme humid conditions due to mismanagement and incompetence of the PTI government. “Those who stand on a container and used to say that previous governments have installed the power plants more than needed, and now load-shedding in the country has returned only due to their mismanagement and incompetence,” she said in a tweet.
Sherry said currently all power plants were generating less electricity than their capacity. “Who was responsible for it and the government should tell who was responsible for 16 hours of unannounced load-shedding, as they could not absolve themselves only through an inquiry report,” she said. “Tabahi Sarkar forgot to order LNG and furnace oil at accessible rates, now blaming high prices and tenders,” she added.
