Mission against Ladi gang completed: IG

LAHORE : Inspector General of Police Punjab Inam Ghani has said the mission assigned by the prime minister and chief minister was completed by the Punjab Police CTD by eliminating the ringleader of Ladi gang along with an accomplice.

He said that Khuda Bakhsh alias Khadi Chakrani and his accomplice Ismail were killed in a police encounter. They were involved in 40 cases of heinous natures, including murder, murder attempt , robbery and dacoity, he added.

Khuda Bakhsh alias Khadi had cut off the hand and foot of a citizen, Ramzan and killed him some time ago and the video of the incident went viral on social media. Upon which, the prime minister and Punjab chief minister ordered Punjab police to conduct an operation against Ladi gang.

DIG: The DIG Operations Lahore visited Baghbanpura and Ghaziabad police stations.

He inspected various parts of the police stations, including front desk and reporting rooms and also reviewed the pending applications in the police stations. He reprimanded the Baghbanpura SHO for poor sanitation arrangements.

Judicial Wing: Lahore Police Judicial Wing safely produced 4,854 accused from Lahore District and 40 accused from other districts in different courts during the last week. More than 77 platoons were dispatched daily to key security points, including protests in various parts of the city during the last week. More than 235 personnel were deployed on the occasion of the appearance of important personalities. At the firing range, 18 mobile squads of the security division and 19 personnel were given firing practice.

Dolphins, PRU: Dolphins and PRU wings showed immediate response to all 226 calls received on helpline 15 during the last week.

Dolphin Squad and PRU checked 638,000 bikes, 668 other vehicles and more than 639,000 persons. Around 2,613 bikes and 18 other vehicles were impounded and 780 persons were arrested due to incomplete documents. Dolphin Squad and PRU also arrested 66 persons for kite-flying, 81 for doing wheelie and seven persons on charges of firing in the air.
