CHITRAL: Three persons, including a woman and a child, were killed and 11 others sustained injuries when a van fell into a ravine near Reshun village in Upper Chitral on Saturday.
Police and eyewitnesses said that the vehicle, which was on its way to Booni from Peshawar.
“The driver lost control over the steering while negotiating a turn at Doomon Gol and the vehicle fell into the gorge,” said an eyewitness.
He said the driver of the van and passengers died on the spot. The deceased were identified as Hamid Ali Shah (driver), Shabana and Syed Hassan.
The injured included Mujeebur Rahman, Javed, Mustansir, Muzammil, Adeeba Naz, Samigha Nazir,
Musarat Shaheen, Razia Sultan and Rohida.
Rescue 1122 said that 15 persons were on board the vehicle when it met with the accident. The four persons died on the spot, it added.
Deputy Commissioner Upper Chitral Muhammad Ali along with his team reached the spot and supervised operation to shift the injured to the tehsil headquarters hospital Booni.
Police said that the injured have been shifted to the hospital.
