HARIPUR: A woman and her mother were shot dead while an infant boy got injured when a man opened fire on his family members over unknown reasons in the Bilal Town Ghazi area.
An eight-year-old son of the accused escaped unhurt as he had hidden in a washroom, and later accused his father of murdering his mother, maternal grandmother, and also causing a bullet wound to his two-month old brother.
Police in Ghazi area quoted Abdullah Khan, 8, a resident village Gandaf presently living in a rented house of Bilal Town Ghazi, that his father Muhammad Asif Khan, had an altercation with his mother Uzma Bibi over some unknown reasons and the short-tempered man, opened fire with a pistol injuring her critically.
When Abdullah’s grandmother (mother-in-law of the accused) Toheed Bibi attempted to rescue her daughter, the accused allegedly also fired shots at her body, killing both the mother and daughter on the spot.
In the firing, the accused’s two-months-old boy Mohiz Khan also suffered a bullet wound in the leg.
Abdullah Khan said that he remained unhurt as he hid himself in the washroom, locking it from inside. Abdullah later informed the neighbours who shifted the bodies and injured boy to Tehsil Headquarter Hospital, Ghazi with the help of local police.
A case was registered against the accused and raids were underway for his arrest, the police said.
