Rescue drivers take oath
LAHORE : The oath-taking ceremony of 91 Rescue drivers of sixth Short Course was held at Emergency Services Academy here on Friday.
DG Punjab Emergency Service Department (PESD) Dr Rizwan Naseer was the chief guest of the ceremony. He administered oath to 91 rescuers of different districts of Punjab.
The senior officers from Rescue Headquarters, Emergency Services Academy and a large number of rescuers attended the ceremony. These rescuers have been trained on Road Safety, Emergency Vehicle Driving, Motorbike Driving and Community Action for Disaster Response during the 6-week training programme. Speaking on the occasion, DG PESD said that Rescue 1122 Punjab has rescued over 9.5 million victims of emergencies since its inception in October 2004. Furthermore, Emergency Services Academy has trained over 19000 rescuers from Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Balochistan and Aman Foundation from Karachi since 2004.
