The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) recently announced the result of the Provincial Management Services (PMS) screening test. The result was based on the tentative target marks formula. Now, the KPPSC has called only 25 candidates per seat for the written examination. This has upset thousands of people who were looking forward to taking the exam. They have complained that since the screening test had no defined syllabus, it seems that the commission deliberately failed a large number of aspirants. How can a person’s reading, writing, analytical and management skills be judged through screening tests? Also, they are of the opinion that if the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) does not conduct screening tests, why is the KPPSC doing so? The commission has already charged all aspirants Rs1,500 for the written examination. It seems unfair that they are not being allowed to take the exam.
The KPPSC must eliminate the screening test. Many fresh graduates are already unable to find a decent job. Such strict measures will aggravate the problem of unemployment in the country.
