Zone-III beat Zone-II in thriller

KARACHI: Zone-III edged out Zone-II in an exciting match by 9 runs and Zone-IV trounced Zone-I by 10 wickets in the Division-I matches of the KMC-KCCA Inter-Zonal Under-17 Cricket Tournament.

Zone-III posted 238 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 50 overs at TMC Ground.

Jan Zohaib (58), Asadul Haq (42), Asim Sheraz (36) and Sami (21) were the leading batsmen. Ikramullah, Makki and Obaisullah picked up two wickets each.

Zone-II managed only 229-9 in 50 overs. Obaisullah anchored the innings for his 86, hitting twelve fours.

Mateen Malik and Saad claimed three wickets. Basit took 2-24.

Matin Malik was named the man of the match.

At Nazir Hussain Fighter Ground, Zone-I were bundled out for 173 in 39.3 overs.

Haider Ali struck seven fours in his 47. Moazzam scored 32.

Faiqur Rehman took two wickets for 33 runs.

Zone-IV chased down the target without losing any wicket in 19.3 overs.

Jahanzaib Sultan whacked thirteen fours and a six in his unbeaten 94-run knock. Zaryab Khan (72) also batted well, hammering twelve fours. They added 174 runs for the opening wicket.

Jahanzaib was declared the man of the match.
