SUKKUR: A team of Sindh Barrages Improvement Project (SBIP) visited the Sukkur Barrage for the supervision of the replacement process of its six gates.
Project Director Ghulam Mohiuddin Mughal along with his team visited the Sukkur Barrage ahead of replacement of its six gates to enhance the controlled release of water. The consultants briefed the visiting team that gates 39 and 40 needed to be replaced, while 35 was being renovated. Furthermore, gates 31, 32 and 34 are being fabricated at Karachi Engineering Shipyard Company. The PD SBIP also briefed the consultants that gate numbers 39 and 40 were also not functioning properly due to some mechanical issue.
