KARAK: Chief Justice Peshawar High Court (PHC) Qaiser Rashid Khan administered oath to the newly elected office-bearers of District Bar Association Karak and Tehsil Bar Associations Banda Daud Shah and Takht-e-Nasrati.
Addressing the ceremony, the chief justice said the administration of justice was not the exclusive responsibility of judges and lawyers as it was only possible when all the stakeholders did justice to their respective spheres of responsibilities.
Emphasising the role of bar and bench, he said the quality of judgement depended on the quality of assistance rendered by the lawyers. The chief justice stressed upon the availability of a conducive working environment for administration of justice. He also visited the under-construction building of Judicial Complex Karak. Work on the complex started in November 2016 but it was behind schedule due to less allocation of funds by the provincial government.
Allocation has been increased for PHC under the Annual Development Programme this year and this project will get sufficient funds for its completion during the next two years.
Initially the project was approved to be completed at a cost of Rs819.943 million and till date an amount of Rs489.767 million including land cost has been incurred.
Recently, the project has been revised to Rs1048.595 million to include the construction of a bar room, lawyers’ shed, residences, furniture and equipment.
The complex is spread over an area of 150 kanal having provision for 17 courtrooms in a double-storey building extendable to 26 courtrooms.
