MARDAN: Nineteen persons were arrested and weapons recovered during several raids in the district on Sunday.
An official statement said that on the directives of District Police Officer Dr Zahidullah Khan, the cops from Toru Police Stations raided several areas and arrested four proclaimed offenders and their two abettors. The cops also recovered four pistols, one rifle, one Kalakov, and 51 bullets. Another 13 suspects were arrested at nakabandis for further probe.
Meanwhile, cops from Rustam Police Station arrested a man and recovered a stolen rickshaw. Following registration of a case, the cops laid hands on Haji Nawab, a resident of Buner district. Nawab confessed to having lifted the three-wheeler during interrogation.
