Commissioner, CCPO distribute face masks

LAHORE : Commissioner Lahore Capt (retd) Muhammad Usman and CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Doger distributed masks in Badshahi Masjid as part of ‘Lahore Wears Mask’ campaign here on Friday.

Both the officers also offered Jumma prayer in Badshahi Masjid and addressed the citizens present in the mosque about COVID SOPs. They appealed the citizens that saving the health and lives of people was everybody’s religious, national, social and ethical duty.

The Commissioner said that administration would provide masks to every home, educational institute, mosque and public places. He said that administration would not only go to mosques but also churches to appeal the citizens to wear masks. He said fourth wave of COVID-19 was looming around and a little negligence could prove very dangerous. He said international donors had donated 30 million masks to the Lahore Wears Masks campaign. CCPO Lahore said that police and administration would leave no stone unturned to aware the citizens about importance of wearing masks.

corona SOPs: Capital City Police Officer Ghulam Mahmood Dogar has appealed to the people to wear face mask and follow other corona SOPs, including observing social distancing keeping in view the gravity of the issue as new corona variations have been observed again in the country. Addressing the congregation of Friday prayers at Badshahi Mosque, he said, “We can defeat COVID-19 with the cooperation of all sections of society.” Talking about the threat of fourth wave of COVID-19 in the wake of recent rise in positive cases after a slight down slide, the CCPO asked the masses to keep using face mask, taking protective measures besides getting themselves vaccinated as early as possible. “We can celebrate Eidul Aza and wedding events by keeping the gatherings limited and taking all precautionary measures,” he added.
